Week 9: A second straight brutal loss for UNC, this time to Georgia Tech, 46-42. Gray was in on six tackles but missed several tackles as well (four). In coverage, the LB was pretty stingy — he was in the area on five passes but allowed just one reception for 10 yards. — JH

Week 8: Gray logged 87 snaps, the second most this season for him, as UNC was shocked by Virginia, 31-27. Despite the loss, Gray was in on 11 tackles, including four solo stops. He also, along with DB Will Hardy, forced a fumble late in the fourth quarter as Cavs RB Mike Hollins was going in for a TD. The ball rolled out of the end zone for a touchback, giving Drake Maye and the offense one more chance to win the game. Gray was targeted by Virginia in pass coverage. Eight passes were caught in Gray's area for 68 yards. — JH

Week 7: In UNC's big win over Miami 41-31, Gray made an impact in coverage, intercepting Hurricanes QB Tyler Van Dyke and breaking up another pass. He also was crediting with being in on 10 tackles. All in all, a big day for the Tar Heels top defender.

Week 6: The UNC linebacker made his presence felt as a pass rusher in his team's 40-7 clobbering of Syracuse. Gray sacked QB Garrett Shrader once and pressured him two other times. He was also in on eight tackles and missed one tackle. In coverage, Gray gave up four receptions on four targets but limited the yardage to a total of just 15. — JH

Week 5: DNP — North Carolina bye week.

Week 4: Gray recorded one solo tackle and six assisted tackles in the Tar Heels 41-17 win over Pittsburgh. He also registered two QB pressures. In coverage, he was targeted three times and gave up just one reception for six yards. He also broke up a pass. He did miss one tackle. — JH

Week 3: Gray recorded six tackles (four solo, two assisted) in North Carolina's 31-13 win over Minnesota. He also missed two tackles. In pass coverage, Gray was targeted five times, giving up three receptions for 21 yards. He did not allow a TD pass and he did not get called for penalty in 31 passing plays. — JH

Week 2: North Carolina won their second game over a tough Appalachian State, 40-34. Gray had a big day with nine total tackles and one assisted. He had three QB hurries and three hits on the QB. — JH

Week 1: In a 31-27 win on the road against rival South Carolina, Gray recorded a QB sack for a five-yard loss. He also notched four tackles (three solo, one assisted). — JH
